Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Laboratory for the Study of Upper Airway Dysfunction at Teachers College, Columbia University, Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences has an opening for a clinical fellow in speech-language pathology. The applicant will be supervised by Dr. Michelle S. Troche. The UAD is committed to improving clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients with dysphagia and dystussia through research, education, and clinical care.

The candidate will have an opportunity to work on grant-funded clinical-research projects and the lab’s initiatives in the Columbia University Medical Center. The candidate will also play a critical role in the clinical care of patients seen through the multidisciplinary clinical-research initiative in neurorehabilitation at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology
  • 1 year of experience in assessment of swallowing and cough disorders.
  • Strong experience in research on upper airway dysfunction including cough and swallowing
  • Strong writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated abilities to engage in creative scholarship/research.
  • Proven experience working as part of a collaborative team with faculty and graduate students.
  • Specific expertise in the evaluation and management of movement disorders patients, particularly in the areas of swallowing, cough and motor speech disorders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish

Salary Range:

$60,000
