Posting Summary:
Collaborating with the IA leadership team, the frontline fundraisers, the annual fund, and the alumni engagement teams, the Director will be responsible for developing highly creative and customized stewardship and cultivation initiatives targeting high-net-worth donors and prospects. The incumbent will also spearhead the acknowledgment function for named gifts in cooperation with the Office of the President. The incumbent is a highly-skilled events and communications professional who understands the importance of providing customized and outstanding experiences for donors and prospects. This is a highly collaborative role intended for a senior leader who has expertise in collaboration, event production, project management, including budgeting and execution. The incumbent must have comfort working with leaders at all levels of the institution, trustees, other volunteer leaders, as well as faculty. Excellent writing skills and experience overseeing writing projects are essential.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Director will manage the activities of the Recognition and Stewardship Manager for the timely acknowledgment of gifts at all levels, and will collaborate with annual fund colleagues to move donors along a journey that supports renewed commitments to the College through special recognition initiatives. The incumbent will collaborate with the Advancement Services team on donor recognition and acknowledgement, as required. The Director will be instrumental in managing high-level cultivation and stewardship activities, including special recognition events.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and execute an acknowledgment action plan for TC donors at all levels that helps to strengthen the long-term relationship between donors and the College.
  • Create and manage stewardship actions that recognize milestones in a donor’s giving journey, including special giving societies and giving milestones that support renewed commitments and additional revenue generation. Examples include first-time donors, consecutive renewed gifts, and planned giving participants
  • Develop ongoing cultivation activities, including prospect events that support the College’s priorities.
  • Manage the activities of the Recognition and Stewardship Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and professional experience
  • Minimum of eight to ten years of experience in a University or non-profit environment
  • Relationship management experience
  • Experience as an events professional
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing skills and experience overseeing writing projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong client-service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff, and volunteers
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with Google Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge is a plus

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $127,000
