Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Investigations Manager and Title VI Coordinator is responsible for conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment under the Teachers College policies. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Community Affairs, this position serves as the College's primary Title VI Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. In this capacity, they serve as the primary investigator, leading institutional efforts to ensure compliance with non-discrimination and equal opportunity laws, regulations, and policies.
This role requires a deep understanding of civil rights laws and a proven track record of conducting thorough and unbiased investigations, as well as developing and delivering training and educational programs. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of managing complex and sensitive matters with discretion and a commitment to impartiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Three or more years of working within a college or university setting.
- Three or more years of investigatory or relevant professional experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of Title VI, Title IX, Section 504, and other relevant civil rights laws and regulations.
- Strong organization, planning, analytical, and problem-resolution abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive reports.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with an emphasis on education and training.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as the willingness to learn new technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school or Master’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Five years of investigatory or relevant professional experience.
- Experience working in a graduate or professional school setting.
- Familiarity with Maxient, Banner, Salesforce, and Hivebrite.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $135,000
