Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Office of the Provost is funding a pilot internship program with the famed Apollo Theatre in Harlem. Students must be Arts & Arts Administration students and must register for the 1-credit Internship class. The ArAd intern will provide administrative, research, and creative support to the Apollo Theatre leadership team as they reconnect with the community. This position requires a commitment of 10-12 hours/week.

The ArAd Interns will work directly with ArAd faculty and Apollo Theatre leadership to expand research, grant-writing efforts, and various ways to tell the Apollo's story.
Offer authentic perspectives on programs, performances, research, and other opportunities.
Support grant-writing initiatives and projects, connecting the mission of The Apollo with the local community and the larger arts community.
Maintain ongoing communication to ensure Apollo Theatre leadership feels supported and connected.
Collect and share feedback from interactions with the arts community.
Assist with the creation of content or materials to engage clients and community members

Scheduling:
Student work schedules are based on departmental needs and the student’s academic schedule. Students should discuss their availability with the supervisor during the interview process. Every effort will be made to accommodate schedules.

Work Limitations:
During the academic year, students may not hold appointments or any combination of hourly appointments totaling more than 27 hours per week (20 for international students). Interim Students (IS) may hold other non-exempt positions (e.g., FWS, CA, AF) but must not exceed the maximum total allowable 27 hours per week. IS positions cannot be held simultaneously with a TA or RA appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a TC student currently enrolled in the Arts & Arts Administration degree program and taking at least 1 credit
Must be able to abide by Teachers College academic and personnel policies and guidelines, including FERPA, Student Confidentiality Agreement, and Student Privacy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Social Media
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong computer, research, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or interest in using technology for communications, storytelling, or creating marketing materials, infographics, video, or interactive content.
Familiarity with TC academic programs, campus resources, and NYC cultural experiences.

Salary Range:

$20/hr
