The Enrollment Research Analyst is an important member of the Enrollment Management team at Teachers College, reporting to the Director of Enrollment Research and Strategy. The analyst’s primary responsibility is to compile, organize, and translate large volumes of data into concise and precise reports that inform decisions on a wide range of recruitment and enrollment strategies.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Enrollment Research Analyst is an important member of the Enrollment Management team at Teachers College, reporting to the Director of Enrollment Research and Strategy. The analyst’s primary responsibility is to compile, organize, and translate large volumes of data into concise and precise reports that inform decisions on a wide range of recruitment and enrollment strategies. In this role, the Enrollment Research Analyst will provide critical support to program directors and staff by collecting, coding, and organizing program datasets and developing evaluation reports. Additionally, the Enrollment Research Analyst will conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses utilizing a variety of data sets and databases to evaluate the programs and produce effective data visualizations. The analysis of internal, external, and trend data will elicit insights that will propel the actions necessary to ensure strong enrollment for years to come at this institution, which has had a significant impact on the lives of so many teachers and learners.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run queries and extract data and files from internal and external sources on a routine basis; create and manipulate large, complex datasets from multiple sources; distilling program-level insights
  • Create regular reports and dashboards to track trends; prepare visual charts, graphs, and presentations for summary statistics and evaluation needs, such as profile of students served, program engagement, and key outcomes of interest
  • Collaborate with the internal Enrollment team (e.g., Offices of Admission, Financial Aid, Registrar, Marketing and Communications) and other college teams to communicate findings in written and interactive reports; collaborate with external teams, such as Institutional Research, to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
  • Develop, update, and maintain Tableau dashboard and Slate reports
  • Support the development of other staff members of the team
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education or training in the field/s of information technology, data analytics, education, or the social sciences
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in analyzing and reporting data
  • Experience with SQL and R/ Python or other statistical/programming software
  • Evidence of well-honed skills in data analytics, relational database administration/queries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with formal training in information technology, data analytics, education, or the social sciences, with three (3) years of experience of analyzing and reporting data
  • Formal training in research and evaluation methods and a strong understanding of statistical concepts
  • Good understanding of, and experience in, higher-education enrollment analytics
  • Familiarity with Slate, Argos, Tableau, and Banner

Salary Range:

$73,600 - $87,000
