Postdoctoral Scholar: Community Centered Computer Science New York
The Vice Dean of Teacher Education and Community Partnerships at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to support the research, curriculum development, and dissemination components of interrelated projects. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work in close collaboration with principal investigators, school-based educators, and community partners to manage data collection, contribute to curriculum development, support implementation in schools, and lead dissemination efforts across academic and public platforms. This position, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), focuses on co-developing and implementing locally grounded and community-centered computer science (CS) curriculum for rural Hawaiian elementary and middle school students. The work engages students, educators, and families in the co-design of curriculum that reflects the lived experiences, challenges, and values of local communities. Through a mixed-methods, collaborative research approach, the project seeks to deepen student engagement and interest in STEM learning and future opportunities.

The TML Program is hiring an Instructor to teach MSTU 5013: Theory and Programming of Interactive Media (Lab). This hands-on lab section complements the lecture-based MSTU 5003 and supports students’ development as novice programmers and interactive media designers. Responsibilities include facilitating weekly synchronous online lab sessions, offering individualized guidance, assessing work, and collaborating with the lecture team. Strong teaching experience in programming is required, and familiarity with HTML, CSS, JS, and AI tools is strongly preferred.
Student Teacher Supervisor New York
The Office of Teacher Education at Teachers College seeks supervisors to provide support in the assessment of student teachers currently enrolled in various teacher preparation programs. Supervisors serve as resources for student teachers as well as act as liaisons between the College and the field. Supervisors offer experienced and objective perspectives on overall classroom effectiveness. This position offers flexibility of scheduling.
