Collections Acquisition and Metadata Librarian New York
The Gottesman Libraries seeks a Collections Acquisition and Metadata Librarian who plays a key role in strengthening research holdings in education, psychology, and the applied health sciences to meet the needs of Teachers College. Responsibilities include: managing patron-driven and select standing orders for print and Ebook acquisitions; supervision of ordering, processing, labelling, shifting, and weeding; cataloging and management of bibliographic metadata; advisement and execution of relevant policies, practices, standards, and schemas to elevate representation of the collection in local, community, and global utilities. The incumbent will collaboratively strengthen library technical services and coordinate with other library units on collection needs and projects to improve organization, description, and access to holdings. In so doing, the incumbent will support strategic priorities of the Library and College, especially leadership in digital library technologies.
